Televisions Benchmarking Report

This international comparison of the energy performance of televisions concludes that while new technologies are improving televisions' efficiencies, growth in screen size and the introduction of other functionalities such as 3D and Internet are increasing on-mode power consumption. Plasma technology also uses more energy and whilst this is improving, in markets where plasma screens are prevalent, average consumptions will be greater.
