Mapping

The objective of the mapping element of the Annex is to provide an overview of the energy efficiency performance of certain electrical end-use equipment (or energy using products) in several countries and/or regional areas and a brief summary of the main policy measures regarding energy efficiency of products in those areas.

The main components of the mapping activity are:

  • Definition of the framework for individual product information collection and analysis.
  • Collection of product energy consumption (and where necessary other performance criteria) information about worst, sales weighted average and most efficient products on the market.
  • Collection of information on BNAT.
  • Collection of information about the average product in the stock/park.
  • Collection of details of the various measurement/test standards used to measure performance and ‘correction factors’ and any other regional correction factors that might be necessary.
  • Collection of high level information (i.e. summary) of main current and envisaged/planned policy measures (including MEPS levels).
  • Collection of high level information on the structure of the market (e.g. supply chain culture/structure) and brief overview of possible influencing factors unrelated to policy-making.
